The recent exchange of hostilities between Isreal and Palestinian militants in Gaza ignited some discussions amongst myself and some other Christians here in Nigeria.According to my Christian friends God has a covenant with Isreal and so God is in support of whatsoever Isreal did in the middleeast.
Such blind support for Isreal by the Christian community here has never seized to baffle me.

Firstly,I am a firm believer in God,I am also a Christian, and I know (like other Christians would testify) that God hates injustice. How can a God that hates injustice be in support of the overcrowded and horrible living conditions in Gaza?By the same token the indiscriminate firing of rockets into Isreal by Hamas is also an injustice.Lets be clear on that.

Secondly, this group of christians tacitly belove that God’s love is only restrict to Isreal:my bretheren, the bible says that …God so loved the world … God loves Palestinians,Nigerians,Jews,Iranians,Indians,Australians and the Aborigines ,native Americans e.t.c God loves all.All he asks for is that we accept his love, pure and simple.
It’s a shame that the position adopted by these Nigerian Christians is exactly the same as those of the American Evangelicals.
Thirldly, the world carries on with the tacit belief that peace in the region is an abomination. How wrong.
A two state solution is possible ;but the politicians would need to shelve their inflated egos.
I am pro-Isreal,pro-Palestian, and definately Pro-Peace.
It is possible.
